Lakeland’s annual Fall Yard Sale is just weeks away, and residents are being encouraged to sign up now to have their homes included in this year’s communitywide event.
The sale is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, with the largest crowds traditionally arriving during the morning hours. Approximately 30 homes have registered so far, but previous Lakeland yard sales have typically included between 50 and 100 participating households.
Residents throughout Lakeland can participate from their own homes, using garages, driveways and yards to sell items to shoppers traveling throughout the community. Sellers are encouraged to be ready by approximately 7 a.m., when many early-bird shoppers begin making their rounds.
A communitywide yard sale map will again be available to help shoppers locate participating homes. Residents who would like their address included on the map can email Wesley Wright at wesley@wesleyalanwright.com or submit their information through the designated Lakeland Tennessee Yard Sale Facebook page.
There is no cost to participate. Sellers are responsible for placing signs directing shoppers to their homes and removing those signs after the event.
With October 3 approaching, organizers are hoping additional residents will register in the coming days and help bring participation closer to the levels seen during previous Lakeland fall yard sales.
For residents with items collecting dust in the garage, attic or closets, the communitywide sale offers an opportunity to clear out unwanted belongings while welcoming shoppers from across Lakeland.
